Abstract : Since its emergence, the Arabic novel has been associated with multiple linguistic levels, between the mother tongue and foreign languages Or between the mother tongue and its colloquial language that differs from one Arabic country to another which contributed to the enrichment of this topic has become an existing controversy that raises the spirit of conflict between critics and writers that doesn't end. This research sheds light on this linguistic debate that the Algerian Arabic novel is experiencing through "the dialect of language between the classical and the colloquial in the Algerian novel, as the novel of LAZ by Taher Wattar. We dealt with the controversy in the Arabic novel first, then we specialized more in the Algerian novel. Finally, wetried to uncover the manifestations of this controversy in the novel of LAZ by Taher Wattar. Keywords: novel, controversy , classical, colloquial, LAZ.
